What this site stores, which services it uses, and what happens when you buy the Trip Pack.

What you enter in the calculator

The free timeline calculator runs in your browser. The species, destination, travel date, return date and rabies details you type in are used to work out your dates on your screen. The calculator does not send them to our server or store them. The few non-date details that analytics counts are listed under Analytics below.

The Trip Pack page

After you buy the Trip Pack, the pack page on this site may ask you to enter your trip details again. Those details are used to build the pack in your browser and are saved in your browser's local storage (under the name ahcTripInput) so the pack can show again on the same device. They are not sent to us. Clearing your browser's site data removes them.

Analytics

The site uses PostHog (its EU cloud, eu.i.posthog.com) to count visits. The PostHog script loads on the home page, the destination pages, the AHC cost page, the sample pack page, the Trip Pack page and on the privacy, terms and about pages. It is set up with person_profiles: identified_only, and the site never identifies visitors by name or email, so anonymous visitors do not get a person profile.

  • PostHog's standard browser tracking records page views and basic interactions such as clicks.
  • One custom event, ahc_timeline_generated, is sent when you calculate a timeline. It carries the species, the destination country, whether you entered a return date, and the rabies status you chose. It does not carry your dates.
  • Another custom event, pack_cta_click, is sent when you click a Trip Pack payment link. It carries the page path you were on.
  • As with any web request, PostHog receives your IP address and browser details. By default PostHog's script may keep an anonymous visitor ID in a cookie or in local storage so that repeat visits can be counted together.

Payments

The £7.99 Trip Pack is bought through a Stripe payment link (buy.stripe.com). Stripe collects the details it needs to take the payment, such as your payment details and email address, and handles them under Stripe's privacy policy. This site does not see or store your card number.

After payment, Stripe sends you to the Trip Pack page with a checkout session ID in the link. A small server function on this site asks Stripe whether that session was paid and complete, and returns only a yes or no to your browser.

Email

If you email skai@boldnsmart.com with a question or a refund request, we receive your address and your message and use them to reply. The site has no sign-up forms and no mailing list.

Hosting and other services

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, so Cloudflare handles the requests that reach it. Fonts are your device's own system fonts and images are served from this site's own domain. PostHog and Stripe, described above, are the only third-party services the site's pages call. Links to other sites, such as the vet-practice pages on the AHC cost page, are covered by those sites' own policies.
